Not every road out of Montezuma follows the shoreline. The long route to Sámara is the main-road option: it heads up and around the Paquera side of the Nicoya Peninsula, trading hidden coves for sweeping views across the Gulf of Nicoya and a steadier, more comfortable ride. Along the way you’ll pass through Nicoya itself, one of Costa Rica’s oldest colonial towns — a fine excuse for a coffee stop or a stretch of the legs before the final descent to the coast. This is still a private, door-to-door transfer: your driver, your schedule, your stops. And the finish line is worth it — Sámara’s calm, reef-sheltered bay, all palm trees and easy swimming, with Playa Carrillo just around the point. The next chapter of the trip starts the moment you close the car door. Flat rate per vehicle for 1–5 passengers; +$15 per additional passenger from the 6th (max. 9).
