FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Guanashuttle a private or a shared shuttle?

Every Guanashuttle transfer is 100% private and door to door: the vehicle is exclusively for you and your group, never shared with strangers. That means no detours to pick up other passengers — just a direct, comfortable private shuttle in Costa Rica, on your schedule.

Where does Guanashuttle operate?

We are based in Sámara, Guanacaste, and we drive throughout Guanacaste and all of Costa Rica. We currently offer 156 published routes connecting 34 origin and destination points, including Liberia International Airport (LIR), San José Airport (SJO) and the Peñas Blancas border crossing. If you don’t see your route online, write to us and we’ll help.

How do I book a private shuttle?

Use the From/To search on guanashuttle.com to pick your route, then choose your date, pickup hour (all 24 hours are available) and number of passengers. At checkout we’ll ask for your exact pickup time and, for airport arrivals, your flight number. You pay securely online with PayPal — and if you’d rather talk to a person, message us on WhatsApp at +506 8354 0250.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

It’s a fixed rate per vehicle, not per person, and it covers 1 to 5 passengers. From the 6th passenger on, each additional person adds $15 USD ($20 on San José routes). All prices are in US dollars and shown on every route page — no surprises.

How does airport pickup work — and what if my flight is delayed?

During checkout we ask for your flight number, and we monitor your flight for arrivals at Liberia (LIR) or San José (SJO). If your plane is delayed, we’ll see it and adjust to your real arrival time — that’s what makes a private Liberia airport transfer stress free. And because it’s door-to-door service, we take you straight from the airport to your hotel or rental.

Can we stop along the way?

Yes — this is your private ride, so the trip runs on your terms. Ask your driver to stop for lunch, a supermarket run or photos along the way. Many travelers use the drive to get their first real look at Guanacaste.

How many passengers can I book for? What about bigger groups?

You can book up to 9 passengers online — our vans carry up to 9 people plus luggage. The fixed rate covers the first 5, and each passenger from the 6th on adds $15 USD ($20 on San José routes). Traveling with a group larger than 9? Contact us at info@guanashuttle.com or on WhatsApp and we’ll coordinate it with you.

What payment methods do you accept?

Online bookings are paid through PayPal. If you have any questions about paying for your transfer, write to us on WhatsApp at +506 8354 0250 or at info@guanashuttle.com before you book and we’ll gladly help.

Do you operate at night? Are you really 24/7?

Yes. Guanashuttle operates 24/7, every day of the year, and when you book you can choose any of the 24 hours. Early-morning departures and late-night airport arrivals are never a problem.

How far in advance should I book?

You can book online at any time, and we recommend reserving as soon as your travel dates are set so your route and exact pickup time are locked in. Need a last-minute transfer? Message us on WhatsApp at +506 8354 0250 — we operate 24/7 and will do our best to help.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Plans change — the best thing to do is contact us as soon as possible on WhatsApp at +506 8354 0250 or by email at info@guanashuttle.com. Tell us your booking details and what you need, and we’ll work out the best solution together.
